The Dream

“A yacht is like a demanding mistress … She will give you great joy and great dramas. She will demand your time and a fair bit of your money or she will give you grief… but she will also take your hand and change your life forever.”  Massimo

As we sat down in Fremantle’s little creatures brewery with Massimo a man who Brodie and I had met just moments ago I had a feeling that this was the guy who would open the door to a whole new world of adventure and discovery. We took our seats and I remember moving through the thick haze of a hangover that was serving as a constant reminder of yesterday’s antics we had rushed away from to be here, moore river

I glanced a quick look at Brodie and he didn’t that flash. So with our best game faces on, we ordered a couple of breakfast beers to lubricate the upcoming conversation and that’s when I looked up as Massimo dropped the above wisdom upon us and it was clear our futures had been changed forever. Somethings you just can’t un-hear.

Needless to say, we spent the rest of the conversation laughing, firing off one million questions a minute like 2 drunk schoolgirls at a Bieber concert. I think we were both just stoked to find someone with real knowledge and experience who was willing to teach us how to sail the oceans
